Travel Health
When booking holidays overseas it is important to consider which vaccinations you may need. Worrying research carried out recently suggests that 51% of travelers had not been vaccinated against relevant diseases for their last trip to a medium or high risk destination and 67% had not taken medical advice before traveling.
Waterside Medical Centre is a registered yellow fever centre and offers a full range of travel advice and holiday vaccinations. Our specially trained practice nurses are available by appointment to give you travel healthcare advice and give any relevant vaccinations.
You will need to book an appointment for this advice ideally at least six weeks before your holiday. This will allow sufficient time for the vaccinations to be given and to provide you with the desired cover against diseases.
There is a lot to discuss at these travel appointments and it would therefore be helpful if you could complete a travel questionnaire and bring it with you to the appointment. Click here to download questionnaire.
Please note that the advice our nurses give on travel is free but charges do apply to certain vaccinations as they fall outside of standard NHS services.
For current charges please see 'Private Charges' notice in the waiting area or ask at reception.
Further travel advice is also available online at the NHS Fit for Travel site.
